Maybelline Instant Age Rewind The Lifter Foundation Swatches

DSC_1005
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind The Lifter Foundation in 270 Natural Beige & 300 Medium Beige

I went on a mad rampage a few weeks ago buying four foundations trying to find one that would match my neck. I picked up these two because they were new. I thought 270 Natural Beige would be a perfect fit, but it's lighter than my neck. I picked up 300 Medium Beige as well and it didn't work either because it had pink undertones. I finally said Fuck it! and went to Sephora to get Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. I was matched to Stromboli which I find a good match to my neck.

Right: 300 Medium Beige

270 Natural Beige looks like it has good yellow undertones, but compared to Nars Sheer Glow in Stromboli, it is more beige. I liked the dewy (but not oily) look of the foundation when it's first applied, but it turns into a satin-matte finish. I eventually returned these to CVS because the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation fits me better.

Gmarket Haul #7!

DSC_0836

Finally posting this Gmarket haul 2 months after receiving it! I made this order back in November on a Thursday, it shipped the following Wednesday, and I received it in the usual 3 days. This time I was able to use my Cash Balance along with Paypal to pay for my order.

It was a bit tricky trying to use my Cash Balance the first time, but all you have to do is click the "Use" button next to Cash Balance under section 3 (Discount Applied) when you check out. A box will pop up where you can choose to use all of your Cash Balance.

Use

In the following picture, you can see that I used all of my Cash Balance thus I had 34,660 won (or $32.97) to pay with Paypal.

After seeing some stylish bloggers wearing the leather sleeves trend, I wanted one for my own and where else to look for it other than Gmarket! I found a few options but got this one because it was simple, stylish, and a bit cheaper. The quality of this jacket is great! It makes me feel very stylish. I also love the pockets! It's a bit long for me, but I don't really mind it and I could get it hemmed if I wanted to. One thing that bothers me is that it doesn't have a collar which I prefer, but I didn't really think of that when I purchased it.

Black Lace Up Booties
Originally 23,800 won, paid 20,520 won (~$19.52) after discounts

Total fail here. I checked the height of the boot shaft and thought "Yeah, 4.7 inches is near 5 inches, so these will be okay." Nope. I find that a boot shaft of 5 inches is perfect for me: high enough to tuck in my pants, but not too high for my big calves. These were too low and because of the boot height, it was awkward to walk in. I ended up selling it to Crossroads, so it wasn't a complete fail. Also, these boots seemed like they were good quality, but it had the Made in China chemical smell.

L'oreal Shine Caresse Wet Shine Stain in Infinite Fuchsia

L'oreal Shine Caresse Wet Shine Stain 187 Infinite Fuschia

Ran out and purchased this after seeing the color Karmen of PeachyPink0614 was wearing in her swatch video of the L'oreal Shine Caresse Wet Shine Stains.

I wasn't interested in them when they first came out, but after seeing that color I had to try it out! I usually don't wear lip glosses (or lipsticks for that matter) so this is different for me. It does oxidize to a darker color which I like. My biggest problem with this is that it's hard to apply it evenly. I tried applying one coat, even it out, and then applying more coats but it still came out uneven.

I kinda went swatch crazy because I wanted to compare it to the other colors I have so here they are:

1. Clinique Chubby Stick in 01 Richer Raisin
2. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 045 Romantic
3. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 005 Crush
4. NYX Goddess of the Night Lip Gloss in 139 Garnet
5. L'oreal Shine Caresse Wet Shine Stain in 187 Infinite Fuschia
6. Wet n Wild Lipstick in 918D Cherry Bomb
7. MUA Lip Boom in LMK (Let Me Know)
8. Milani Lipstick in 11 Black Cherry

This is after I rubbed it with a makeup remover wipe! It does leave a stain, but because it applies unevenly, the stain is uneven.

Makeup Academy Haul!

DSC_1024
Left to Right: Lip Boom in Let Me Know, All in One Beauty Balm in Medium Dark, & Heaven and Earth Palette

Made an order from Makeup Academy (MUA) after seeing swatches and reviews of their Beauty Balm in Medium Dark. It took more than a month (4 weeks) from the day I ordered for it to arrive. I did not receive an email notifying me that it shipped nor did I receive a tracking number. I ordered back in December when they had 40% off. I also received 5 free nail polishes with the order, but I gave them away because they're the crackle nail polishes. Shipping was ₤7.50. In total I paid ₤15.01 which converted into $24.81.

There was a tear in the package, but it was lined with bubble wrap so none of the items were damaged. The nail polishes and eyeshadow palette were wrapped in bubble wrap too and they arrived perfectly.

This was the main reason I made this order. The swatches online (here and here) looked nice and golden and yellow. When I got it, it didn't look as golden and yellow in the pictures. I forgot to take swatches, but hopefully I can do it this weekend if it's sunny! I also need to test this out still, but luckily my neck is getting lighter so hopefully it works out!

I only got this to reach the minimum amount needed to use the 40% off coupon and to get more of the plum/burgundy lip color I've been loving! It comes with a lipstick and a lip gloss. Both smell good! The lipstick side smells like yummy smelling candles to me and the lip gloss side smells like frosting! The color of the lipstick is similar to Milani's Black Cherry lipstick. I don't think I'll be using the lip gloss side because the glitter is super chunky!

Lastly, I got the Heaven and Earth palette because it was cheap and they're neutrals!

Etude House Princess Etoinette Crystal Powder

Etude House Princess Etoinette Crystal Powder

When I first saw the Princess Etoinette collection from Etude House, my first thought was "When can I get this?!". The collection is so adorable and cute! I looked on Gmarket and they had most of the items, but the one I wanted the most was the Crystal Powder which they never sold (weird : /). I was initially planning on buying it from ebay, but they bumped up their prices after a few weeks so I ended up purchasing it from kpoptown. I bought it for $21.90 and shipping was $3.90 with no tracking number. It took about 3 weeks to ship which was a bit longer than the first time I ordered from them.

When I first saw the powder my first thought was "Holy shit, so much glitter! I don't want to look like a vampire!" From far away (like an arm's length) it looks fine. It actually gives a nice satin finish, but once you get up close you can see all the tiny glitters! I might use it as an all over powder if I'm going out to the club/bar, but most likely I'll use this as a highlighter. Other bloggers mentioned that the container can be reused by putting a different loose powder which is a great idea since it's so cute!

New Cleansing Oil from DHC

DSC_1018

While eating and watching TV earlier, I noticed the front of my Mom's DHC catalog and read "NEW Pore Cleansing Oil". I immediately flipped through, ripped out the samples, and tried it out! It has a grapefruit scent that was nice at first, but smelled heavy after a while. It was thick, but easy to massage in. It emulsified and rinsed off nicely. I felt like I didn't need to follow up with a foaming cleanser, but I tried the Pore Face Wash sample anyway. Afterwards my face felt very clean, but I couldn't really tell if my pores got smaller. It also doesn't include mineral oil!

I would love to get it except it's $31! It contains 5 fl. oz. which is roughly 147 ml.

Adambeauty Haul #2!

DSC_0989
Kate Frame Impact Marker & Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner

Made another order at adambeauty.com because I wanted to try the Kate Frame Impact Marker. I was tired of having raccoon eyes from lining my upper waterline with the Milani Liquif'eye Metallic eyeliner pencil. Each item was $11.50 which includes shipping. I paid $2 for registered shipping and received it a week after it shipped.

This is meant to be used in the lash line, but I'm sure you can use it to line as well. I apply it by dotting it into my lash line. You do have to wait for it to dry. It smudged onto my lower eyelid when I used my makeup setting spray. It also smudged after a few hours : (.

I was getting frustrated with the liquid eyeliner I was using (pa Liquid Eye Liner from the Japanese supermarket) so I decided to try this out. It's much better than the one I was using! It was difficult to make a nice line with the pa one because it dragged my skin. This one just glides over making it easier and faster. You do have to go over a few times to get it opaque. I'm glad I bought this and would purchase it again especially at this price!

Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation

20130101_184450

Woo! The Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundations have arrived! I picked one up at my local Walgreens. Some of them had $1.00 off coupons.

DSC_0936
Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation in 820 Medium/Tan

I picked up the second to darkest shade 820 Medium/Tan. I didn't go for the darkest one because it had beige/pink undertones. Overall, the color range is really light. I tried this on one side of my face and it's slightly lighter than my skin tone (T_T). Still, I can't wait to try this out in the next few days! Even though it's light, the finish is matte/slighty satin which is great because all of my other foundations/BB creams aren't!
