GQ look

finally went to savers today! i wish i had more time there, but mom and sis were waiting.
found a long skirt with lovely pleating and a gold detail. sadly, it was too short to be a floor length dress and too long to be a cute dress. i could of worked with it, but i didn't "need" it. back to the hanger it went.
saw a very sexy lady...i wish i could of taken this hot chick home, but i knew my mom wouldn't buy it and i don't have any space. so, instead, i got:
black skirt. i need to hem and line it, but it was only $3.99. just a few dollars more to make it perfect.
i don't know why i like these shoes. they remind me of 80's pretty in pink.
and i love the men's shoe look it has with jeans. my GQ look!

Crazy For You

i have this song stuck in my head. i've been singing it all day in my sucky even though i'm a filipino voice.

anyway, went to the g mall. i was supposed to get stuff for school, but it ended up that my brother got stuff and i didn't even though he starts school in a month and i start next week. oh well.
mainly went to h&m and tried on the hats and bags. i fell in love with this porkpie hat, it was really cute, but too hipster for me. also fell in love with a bag. simple, big, leathery, and only $19.90! but didn't have enough money. boo hoo.
picked up h&m magazine...
the tights are crazy colorful, but only $7.90
heehee, bf said she looked like the fashion designer from the Incredibles.
after h&m, watched Tropic Thunder. the theaters are so strict now. the girl was being a beezy by asking for ids. who actually checks if it's rated R? kids these days see worse than that. also, they weren't allowing "outside" food into the theater. that meant my bf had to throw away his drink he just bought. i stuffed his anderson's sandwich and pastry into my tiny ass bag. damn, i should of got that bag from h&m. good for times like this where you need to hide shit. even after the movie was over, they had employees standing outside the doors. they usually don't do that. damn. well at least they haven't reached AMC standards: id checks, security guards, and those black stands with cords connecting them for lines, leading straight to the exit. rawr. fuck the theaters with their $10 tickets and strict rules!
afterwards, i took my anger out on almonds that needed to be taken out of their shells. ate some in the process.
rawr! my sister busted out the chalk and i tried to draw my chicken.

Smiling at the Gates of Hell

At the Gates of Hell in the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford last year in August.
It's funny how i can't get out as much the more i get older. sad.
anyway, went to old navy yesterday to get those flats. i was about to buy it online, but decided just to go because i didn't want to pay the $7 s&h.
thank goodness i went!
they didn't have black, but they had the same style and when i tried it on, it felt really hard! it was stiff and not as comfortable as i thought it would be. tear tear. i tried on their other flats, but they weren't comfortable or pretty as i saw them online.
i did see some things i liked, like a pair of pumps and a bag, but they were around $30 or more each... i guess i'll wait till they get on clearance.
speaking of clearance, damn. it was so messy. things were just thrown on the shelves all disorganized. old navy's standards have gone down.
but i guess i'm just bitter that they didn't hire me.
:F haha. oh well.
today wasn't any good either. went to Loehmann's but their shoe collection featured the sizes 9 and 10 only. even went to Ross, but it wasn't good there either.
gah! bad shopping day. will i ever find a good pair of flats?
i'm not giving up though! with a week left until school starts, i'm going to hit the thrift stores. i found a good one while searching on yelp, so i gotta check that one out.

Tea Ren's Tea Time

Another Tapioca run today. i was extremely thirsty and there wasn't anything to drink except water, milk, and soda. i'm getting tired of tapioca after going there a couple times a week the whole summer, so instead, i got my usual at Tea Ren, the Passionfruit Green Tea Milk Tea (with pearls of course :D)so yummy! :)
it makes my throat all itchy though. :D
well, with the week almost over, there is only one week left before school starts. i just realized today that i could go back to school shopping. weird. on my (wish) list:
-flats:
i think these flats would be best. the price isn't bad and it's simple. my flats are all worn out and torn. :( makes me sad. i definitely need flats.
-black skirt:
i'm STILL looking at this skirt from Urbanoutfitters. i listed the reasons for this skirt than the one from aa in an earlier post. uo also has a not high waisted version for only $24, but i think this would be more versatle.
-big ass bag.
i haven't seen any that i like online. i need to get out of the house and shop!
and yeah, i think that's all i pretty much need.

forever 21 finally has these leggings:not bad for $13.80, but not for me. i'll stick with my plain black leggings. these scream out sex! :O

band geek!

today i went back to my old highschool to visit the girls in color guard. it was fun seeing them all again. it made me want to be in color guard again.our makeup was hideous and our pants were so tight, but i loved all of it. good memories.

i want me some stripper heels

hot.
but i think that i'll die on these or something. or seriously injure my ankles.
:(
anyway, today was a sad day. i couldn't go see the sisterhood 2 with my girls. this is the last chance we'll all be together since two are leaving for college. to ease my sorrows, i laid in bed blasting albert hammond jr. to eat away my sorrows, i walked to tk noodles. yum.
man, i can't wait till college starts (which is in 12 days). i was searching yelp and there are so many food places around sjsu. damn. i'm going to be eating the whole time.

Frozo's

came, saw, got, and went.

korean sushi...yum

my mom passed by the korean supermarket and got me some sushi...yum. i usually eat it all by myself. i just keep on putting them in my mouth. gah, i'm a pig.
in other food news, there's another yogurt with fruits, etc. you can put on store opening nearby. there's so many of them it's ridiculous. Red Mango, Yogurtland, Pinkberry, Frozo's. Dude, they're all the same. i don't get what's so great about it. i guess i have to try it out today! also, i got a cupon. whooo. time to milk.
last night, i went with the bf to see pineapple express. the movie was okay. it had its funny moments.
casual friday night movie outfit:
cardigan americanapparel, tank top oldnavy, jeans lei/walmart, shoes loehmann's
i wasn't really comfortable the whole time. the jeans were a bit tight and i usually like to put my legs up or on my bfs lap. i should of worn the usual dress but i didnt shave for how many days... :D

salt....mmmmmmm

so i had this dress that i bought from crossroads that originally came from urbanoutfitters that i never wore. the shoulders we're made of acrylic/wool and were extremely tight making it hard to put on and wear. the shoulders also had this fold up and button up design that never stayed in place.see?
i guess the only reason i bought this dress was because of the pockets (i love them!),the dark blue corduroy of the dress, and the fact that i pretty much exchanged my clothes to get new clothes. i was cleaning out my closet and thinking about giving it away, when i came up with an idea. taking my handy pair of scissors, i cut the acrylic/wool material of the shoulders/top half off.
here's what it looked like:
next, i pinned it up to the shortest it could go without the pockets peeking out and because i didn't have any ribbon i just used clear bra straps to hold the dress up. ghetto.
here is what it looked like:
much better than how it was before with its too tight shoulders and long length.
i was thinking of what to use as straps. i didn't want to use ribbon because it would be all shiny and girly. i then remembered how my friend made straps on her prom gown using the leftover fabric from when it was hemmed.
ding!
so now my plan is to bring this to the alteration/dry cleaners to get it fixed. i think that the cost would be a little more over $20, but i'm okay with that because i don't want to mess it up with my sucky sewing and not right stitches which i could never get the tension right. can't wait to see how it turns out!

woo... got my jeans!

i finally got my jeans from walmart today! took so long! rawr!
it came in such a big box. haha.
the shipping was only $2.94 though, so i'm not complaining! also, it came with a ton of brown wrapping paper!yee. i can use it as gift wrap. i'm eco friendly. heehee.

so when i got my jeans, they were really tight. and i thought that size 3 wouldn't fit me! thank goodness they didn't have size 1 in stock. i guess that i'm size 3 in juniors. i've worn american eagle jeans for a long time and there i was size 0. ugh. sizes are weird.
yes, the jeans are very tight. i like the raw feeling they have. i'm going to wear these jeans out.

i love Betty Crocker Warm Delights

mmm so delish! it was the mini one so i wasn't satisfied!!!
anyway... i just finished reading The Ghost Orchid by Carol Goodman.
it was pretty good. i missed the suspense of her books. i just started it last night... and ended up having a marathon of it. so i pretty much spent the whole day reading it. luckily for me, her new book comes out tomorrow.i read the synopsis for the book and it sounded very similar to her book before this one called The Sonnet Lover. i guess that i have to read it to find out!

ahh i sound like such a bookworm :)

the downfalls of thrifting

my past thrifting trips have come up with bad results. i don't know why i bought these things. now i'm stuck with them. it's time to clean out my closet and send all my old clothes back to goodwill/savers.

item 1: top from Crossroads
i don't know why i got this top. maybe because of the japanese tag? haha. it's too girly for me and a bit itchy...

item 2: vest from South Street Thrift Center
i don't know why i got this vest. i liked the color and texture i guess. i'm not a fan of vests.

item 3: pleated dress from Savers
i thought that it would be cute with a belt, but when i tried it on in the store, i didn't try it on with a belt, so when i got home it didn't turn out so well. always bring a belt with you when trying out stuff.

item 4: red dress from online vintage store
i totally killed this dress. it was too long for me (it went up to my knees) so i decided to cut it off. i cut it too short. tear tear. this dress was pretty cool though. i liked the belt and it had pockets!!! i love pockets...

item 5: polka dot top from Savers
this top was cute for $1.99... and it has a cute sash (worn as a belt), but it's not working for me :(

item 6: red dress from Savers
it had a 70s look to it, but on me it just looked bleh.

i did find some treasures though!
i regret some things. one thing that i regret is cutting this beautiful dress!!! it was longer than floor length when i bought this dress from Vintage Amore. i planned to wear it for prom, but it was very sheer.

i really like this dress. it's short and flirty, but the shoulders are a bit weird.

i wore this dress a lot to school during my sophomore year. it was very breezy.
